We’ve rounded up some safe and simple recipes to try at home, with a few helpful links to online resources so you can follow along with tutorials too. Whether you’re baking for your dog, cat, bird, tortoise or reptile, we’ve got you covered.*
For the Dogs
Peanut Butter & Banana Biscuits
These classic biscuits are a hit with most pups. Make sure your peanut butter is xylitol-free (as this ingredient is toxic to dogs) and use whole wheat flour for a fibre boost. Bake into fun shapes with the kids for extra entertainment!
Frozen Berry Yogurt Bites
A great way to cool your dog down on hot days. Just blend plain Greek yoghurt with local berries, pop into silicone moulds and freeze. These are perfect for post-walkies chill time!

For the Cats
Tuna & Catnip Croutons
A crunchy little treat made with pantry staples and a pinch of dried catnip. Cats love these for their texture and scent!
Salmon Bakes
Using tinned salmon and egg, these little bites bake quickly and offer a protein-packed snack. Cats adore the taste (and the smell!).

For the Birds
Seen & Oat Balls
Birds love seeds, and you can add in oats and a touch of honey to make small baked seed balls. Be sure to keep the honey content minimal.
Fat Cakes
A garden favourite! Melt lard or suet, mix in seeds and dried fruit, and chill in moulds. Hang them in trees and watch your feathered friends feast.

For the Tortoises
Veggie Medley
Tortoises love their greens! Combine dandelion leaves, grated carrot, and chopped bell pepper. Serve fresh and raw for a nutritious meal.
Calcium Cruchies
Mix cuttlebone powder with whole wheat flour and water, roll into shapes and bake. A great boost for shell health.

For the Reptiles
Fruit & Veg Salad (for Bearded Dragons)
Combine chopped kale, mango and courgette for a vitamin-rich meal. Keep it varied and avoid anything toxic (do your species-specific research!).
Insect Gelatin Cubes
Puree crickets, mix with unflavoured gelatin and chill in cubes. These treats are a protein-rich reward for many reptile species.
