As an International Cat Care Gold Standard veterinary practice we place a huge emphasis on stress reduction and gentle handling for our feline patients. By the time our cats have arrived at the clinic, they have already experienced the stress of going in their carrier and travelling in a car. This can have a negative impact on both diagnostics and their veterinary experience.
If your cat is due to have health tests such as blood pressure, blood or urine sampling we offer a drop off service to reduce time pressure and to allow them to settle into their new surroundings. We have a dedicated cat-only ward using pheromone diffusers to help them feel safe and happy. Added time enables us to effectively use a local anaesthetic cream for blood sampling further reducing any discomfort associated with the needle.
We are a ‘no-scruff’ practice and do not endorse the use of scruffing cats for restraint. The majority of cats are very amenable with a gentle, minimal-restraint approach which reduces stress and negative emotions associated with the veterinary practice. The drop-off service allows us to take time with our feline patients in order to achieve diagnostic testing in the more stressful patients.
Collection can be at any time that is suitable for you, whilst your cat is cared for in the practice.
